Passion for life, unlocking children's futures,
stewarding the environment, and making a
positive difference were the hallmarks of Chris
Horne's life. Though his life ended too
soon, the impact of his life continues to
resonate in our hearts and in the lives of all
he touched. A friend said it best - "We'll never
understand why, but we do know that Chris would
want us to stay positive. To emulate him is to
become a better person."
In considering
Chris' legacy, and how best to honor his memory,
our family has decided to raise a memorial to
him in Chattanooga that reflects the example he
lived. With your help we would like to build the
Chris Horne Memorial Habitat Home in the Spring
of 2009.
This home will be simple, decent and
affordable, and built to Energy Star standards
that reduce its impact on the environment, but
most importantly, it will allow a family to
enjoy the blessings that come with having a
decent place to call home.
Realizing this
effort will require $75,000 - our family will
support the effort from our resources as we can,
but your financial support, as well as gifts of
building materials, and volunteer time would be
greatly appreciated. We hope you will join us a
make a difference in the life of a family in
Chris' name this coming spring
